What is WhānauSaver?

WhānauSaver can be a tricky concept for whānau to wrap their head around, is it a KiwiSaver scheme? Do I HAVE to contribute $100 every year? Is this a scam? In short – kāo, kāo, kāo.

Ka Uruora has partnered with SuperLife to offer WhānauSaver, a savings scheme designed by Māori for Māori. With an aim to help uri of partnering iwi, prepare for those important milestones including First Home Ownership, Tertiary Education and Retirement.

Grow your own savings over time with added annual contributions from your iwi, to build a strong financial future for you and your whānau. There is no age limit with WhānauSaver, meaning you can sign up your tamariki or mokopuna to get their savings journey started early. To help whānau gain a better understanding of what WhānauSaver is we have created a short video diving into the ins and outs that will hopefully answer any pātai you may have.

WhānauSaver has been designed to sit in conjunction with your KiwiSaver as a seperate savings scheme, Ka Uruora/ WhānauSaver is not a KiwiSaver provider.
