  • Ka Uruora is focused on helping whānau achieve greater financial security and independence, so they can manage their finances and have more control of their future – and not be dependent on others.
  • Ka Uruora will offer financial education programmes, targeted information and one-on-one support to help whānau build their financial capability.
  • These programmes will focus on key financial areas such as: spending and planning / goals, managing debt, saving and buying a house.
  • Ka Uruora is teaming up with best in class education delivery partners to provide the programmes, including the Commisison for Financial Capability, Tui Ora and Ka Uruora’s savings, banking and housing partners.
  • The first programme to be offered is $orted Kāinga Ora, designed to support whānau take the step of buying their own home – see details below.

  • Developed by the Commission of Financial Capability and Te Puni Kōkiri, the programme comprises eight 2-hour workshops and one-on-one support on key financial areas such as budgeting, managing spending and saving to prepare and support whānau buy a house
